My sitemap stopped regenerating and nobody would have told me. It stayed 62 hours behind, no error, no failing test, and a build output that said it was fine. AI has made me faster at producing software. It hasn't made me responsible for less of it.
The problem wasn't the model. It was how I was asking. For a long time, I assumed better models would produce better answers. Eventually I realized the model wasn't confused. My prompt was.
I built this site over four days with Claude. The work was good and it explained itself well, so I stopped checking it against my original brief. When I finally asked whether Claude had read that brief, the answer was no, and an hour earlier it had deleted content the brief required.
